Sunderland is aiming to be a friendlier and more welcoming place for families by making it easier for them to access simple services and facilities when they’re out and about.
As well as providing families with useful information, such as the locations of nappy changing facilities and family toilets, the aim of Sunderland’s Baby Buddy initiative is to make breastfeeding in public places normal – something which is so natural, yet many mothers still feel uncomfortable about breastfeeding in public and often choose to bottle-feed instead.
The Baby Buddy guide will be distributed to parents with a baby or young child.
How to get involved
If you would like your organisation or service included in the guide, you will need to complete a simple form. Click here to visit the Children’s Centres website to download it.
