If your child was born between 1st September 2006 and 31st August 2007 you will have to make some important decisions over the next 8 weeks. From the 22nd November 2010 you will receive information and a form to make an application for your child to start school next September 2011.
You will receive the booklet and form from the nursery that your child attends. If you child is not attending a nursery in Sunderland please contact the admissions team to get your pack of information Tel: 0191 561 1447 or 0191 561 1399.
Even if your child is currently attending a Council nursery class you will still need to make an application if you would like your child to attend the school.
The application form includes space for you to list three preferences of schools. This is because there isn’t a guarantee that you will get your first preference school.
To help when you when you are making your decisions the Families Information Service can provide information about schools in Sunderland and can also provide help when filling in the application form.

The deadline for primary applications is 15th January 2011. Each year there are late applications and it is very sad that some children are likely to miss out on their preferred school just because their application form is late.
